We Bought A Zoo

8 Apr

We Bought a Zoo is a movie based on a memoir by Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon) and it tells the story of Mee and his family (1 son and daughter) who just bought and moved to the country outside of the city after his wife dies to a run-downed soon to close zoo.  It follows the family through the struggles of trying to rehabilitate the zoo and make it ready for its reopening to the public.  I really didn’t know what to expect having seen the trailer and read about it, but it turned out to be a great movie that had me laughing as well as feeling for the characters.

Billy Madison

28 Jan

For this blog, I decided that I’m not just going to start from the beginning in terms of the earliest movies to “plug” in advertisements, but in a random order.  As a movie lover with a huge and varied selection of movies and a 2 year Netflix subscriber, I watch a ton of movies varying from comedic to horror, romance to sci-fi.  So whatever movies I’ll watch, I

will write a post with pictures and videos of “plugs”.

These next few blogs will be based around Adam Sandler in some of his biggest movies.  This one will be about “Billy Madison“, a classic Sandler film.

Some placements are inconspicuous, in terms of how obvious the director shoots the scene to either add emphasis to the product or just let it be in the scenery.  In Triscuits case, the message was clear:

Another obvious plug was that of Snack Pack , with its pudding cups being used throughout the entire movie.

Included also in the movie was, Nike, Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Rolex, Wonder Bread, and even a little bit from my hometown with Louisville Slugger Bats.
